When you think of Reiki, what are your first thoughts?  If someone asks you “What is Reiki?, how do you respond?
I find that the answer to this question changes over the years and are affected by the frequency with which one practices Reiki. 

My initial experience with Reiki was nearly 22 years ago, when I attended my first Reiki level one class.    At that point in my life I was interested in exploring metaphysical concepts.  In the beginning I was mesmerized by the miracle healings that occurred before my eyes. Even all these years later, I have never grown complacent about the healings that happen. However, my awareness of the scope of miracles has expanded step, by step.

In the beginning I was awed by the phenomena of it all. Today I have a more grounded appreciation of the spiritual depths and evolution of consciousness that Reiki inspires.

During the first few years of my Reiki practice, I viewed it simply as a hands-on healing tool.  I now realize that Reiki is a gift with immeasurable power, to transcend third dimensional “reality”. When we open our hearts and minds fully to Reiki and allow it to guide our every thought, word and action, it leads us through a doorway into our soul and we simply step into higher consciousness.

If you have ever looked at our class schedule, or course descriptions, you may notice that we offer our Reiki I & II classes on consecutive days.  We do so because of the personal experiences we had when we attended classes all those years ago.  21 years ago, it was customary to take Reiki I and wait several months, or years before attending Reiki level II. This was what Mrs. Takata taught.  Years later we learned, through research, that this was different than the way Reiki was taught by Usui Sensei, or Dr. Hayashi.

My passion for Reiki did not really take root until after I became a Reiki level II practitioner.  The symbols in level II are the keys that brought Reiki to life for me.  Once we have access to these keys, we can then begin a deep exploration into what Reiki truly is.  Having the ability to amplify and focus the energy, bring harmony to relationships, enhance mental function and balance the hemispheres of the brain are among the qualities that the power and mental/emotional symbols hold. The limitless nature of the distant healing/absentee symbol assists us in accessing the origin of pure consciousness, where infinite possibilities reside.

Through our initial relationship with Reiki, we may experience sharing the energy by receiving a session or giving one and we simply experience a deep sense of relaxation. As we continue to encounter such deep peace with Reiki, we may begin to sense vastness to our being. We begin to recognize our body as a cocoon that houses something very special. We may FEEL love in a new way.  This is a truly unconditional, soul level sense of being loved and accepted just as we are.  For many of us, this is the first time we have a glimmer of what it means to be a part of anything outside of ourselves.

Reiki becomes our source of unlimited power, and at the same time reminds us that the only TRUE power is Love.  It is through this power that we can transform our personal life, and as the energy frequency (vibration) we each hold increases, we affect the vibration of all creation in a positive way. Through this process we awaken to peace.

It is important to make time, even if only a few moments to connect to the essence of our soul. Reiki is a simple way to do this. All we need do is tap into the energy, be still, and open to receive the nourishment that only Divine Love offers.
So often we awaken in the morning with immediate thoughts of everything we must accomplish during the day that is before us.  We make plans, and lists, and then we go about our busy-ness. But our days can unfold brilliantly, with absolute ease, if we will first share those special moments nourishing our soul connection with the infinitely abundant source of Divine Love.

Imagine, for a moment, that your life is like a flower garden, and Reiki is the water needed for the flowers to thrive. You can think, visualize, imagine, and plan that the flowers will grow, but nothing happens until you turn the faucet on, and water the garden. Reiki can be the connection that opens you to the nourishment that your life needs.

Please create sacred time for yourself each morning. Invite Reiki into your day, send light out into the world and sense the energies of the earth, the nature kingdoms and humanity.  You will likely sense areas that feel calm and peaceful and conversely you may sense areas of turmoil and darkness.  Connect with your Reiki symbols and shine light into the darkness.

Allow the sacred spirit of Reiki to plant seeds of harmony and balance in these areas as the light flows through you. Connect with those areas that you sense as calm and peaceful and nourish them. Allowing the true essence of who you are to simply BE, helps you experience "reality" from the viewpoint of the true you, as you simply step into higher consciousness.

Remember to shower Reiki into the day that is before you with a prayer of gratitude. My daily prayer is “Infinite Spirit, Mother-Father God, thank you for this perfect day. Thank you that, I am guided by Divine Love, I am blessed, and I am healed, so that I am of greater service to myself, to others and to the world.” And So It Is, And So IAM

Our Divinity

While sitting in quiet meditative listening, these questions come to my awareness:
“What if our purpose in life is to discover our divinity?  What if the discovery of our divinity is our highest calling?”

All of humanity seeks to define a personal relationship with the Creator.  Many unique names are used to call upon this Source in prayer and conversation.  This Guiding Light is the pulse that moves through us connecting all of us in One family, the family of Humanity.

We are born into this world with our personal plan for learning and growth.  We discover ourselves through experiences that teach us about light and shadow which include love and hate, compassion and selfishness, peace and unrest, faith and doubt, generosity and greed, enjoyment and suffering and more.

Our journeys vary, our paths parallel and crisscross in a vast web of experiences.  Each and every Soul lives, breathes and moves to an inner rhythm of Source expressing itself.

Through all the ups and downs, highs and lows, we seek our answers and guidance from an inner space, a place within that is our wellspring of divinity.  We can turn to our holy books, teachers and sages for new perspective or for reinforcement of our beliefs.

We can reach into that invisible realm and seek guidance from our Angels.  Each of us has a Guardian Angel, a Celestial Being who interacts with us throughout our lives supporting our spiritual growth. This Guardian watches over us offering protection, inspiration and understanding.

Our Guardian Angel is a friend and companion who is always with us.  Reach out with your thoughts to this Angel and ask for a sign of their presence.  Their response may come through a feeling, a sound, a fragrance, a vision, a dream or a unique and mysterious interaction.

You can connect with your Guardian Angel by creating a space of quiet contemplation, an inner listening and a loving availability.  Allow your heart space permission to feel the emotion of love and acceptance.  Through the expansion of love comes that irrefutable knowing that divinity is present within.

Cultivating our personal relationship with our Guardian Angel can bring us a great sense of peace and well being.  We are reminded that we are never alone nor separate from Source.  We are individual sparks of Creation fulfilling our divine plan.

• Let us remember each day to acknowledge our relationship with Source as part of our every breath.
  
  
• Let us remember each day to be thankful for all of life’s experiences that enrich our Soul.
  
  
• Let us remember each day that the divinity we seek is the divinity we are.
  
  
• Let us remember each day to acknowledge this truth in each other.

We are capable of creating a better world by acknowledging that we are indeed divine.  Through this inner knowing, we elevate our vibration or frequency to higher levels of expression and our personal lives and our world become filled with more Grace, Love and Compassion.
