Integrative
Medicine is healing-oriented medicine that takes account
of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including
all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic
relationship and makes use of all appropriate therapies,
both conventional and alternative.
- Patients and practitioner are partners
in the healing process.
- All factors that influence health,
wellness, and disease are taken into consideration,
including mind, spirit, body, and relationships.
- Appropriate use of both conventional
and alternative methods to support the body’s innate
healing response.
- Effective interventions that are
natural and less invasive will be used whenever possible.
- Alongside specific treatment the
concepts of health promotion and the prevention of
illness are explored.
“Not all unconventional
therapies are holistic, nor is conventional medical
practice necessarily NOT holistic. A single therapy
whether its medications, nutrition, herbs, supplements,
bioenergetics, exercise,
massage or surgery is not holistic unless it is done
in the content of the whole person.”
In this consulting practice
(IntoWellBeing), a wide range of health issues can be
addressed.
Consultations are not
of a primary care nature but are designed from an
Integrative Medical perspective to:
- To support and connect patients
to their healing resources.
- To empower patients by sharing
relevant integrative health care information.
- Together develop an individual
health care plan to support health challenges, restore
and maintain optimum wellbeing for each person.
